For this photo I used blurry grass in the foreground to make it more interesting to the viewer. The colour from the grass and rain drops tell a story and guide your eyes to the grass in focus.

Colour from the flower is emphasized on the neutral tones of the leaves and branches telling the viewer where to look. The space and blur in the background really adds to that emphasis. Textures in focus make the flower and leaves pop out even more.

Leading lines make this photo interesting and eye catching and show a progression in my image. I used perspective to show the viewer where to focus how to feel about my photo.

For this photo I filled the frame and used color to standout. The imperfection of the laces and focus make this photo abstract.

l used light painting to add movement, make my photo abstract, and unique. The colour adds a point of fucus as well as the leading line being not symmetrical. The dark shades make my photo mysterious and intriguing.

Leading lines make this photo eye-catching. The dark shades of red pop in contrast of the use of value. This photo demonstrates emphasis and contrast exceptionally well. From the F-stop to the use of light and shadows this photo is demanding for attention.

I used value to add drama and emphasis to my subject. I used the rule of thirds to draw the focus to her eye.

ln this photo I used emphasis to add a stronger mood and feeling to my image. I used the angle of view to show a different perspective and tell a story and draw the viewer to the flower in the middle.

I used colour and contrast to create the mood make the viewer wonder about my subject. I used a simple background to allow for all the focus to be on my subject.

This photo tells a story. Light and shadows guide your eyes through and the image and add drama. Space is used to show the viewer what is important. Leading lines in all my photos adds uniform. The use of colour to not have any photo overpower, but work together as their own piece in the puzzle.

About me

Hello, my name is Calia; a high school student in British Columbia with a love for photography.

I love being able to capture a story, memory, or emotion; not just a photo.

Being a bored teen in the summer who wanted learn something new is what started my journey

in photography. At least once i week I would ask my mom to use her camara. I would always be

met with a, "not right now," or "when we have time," eventually my mom gave up (thanks to me

constantly asking her) and I finely had her camara. Since then my love and skills continue to grow.

"Curiosity is essential for progress. Only when we look to worlds beyond our own can we really

know if there's room for improvement." -Simon Sinek.

My blog is where I will put my projects, trips, sports games, or recent work.

I love taking photos of groups of friends or family and capturing raw emotions and memories that tell a story. Sports photography is also a passion, from action shots and capturing the other side of sports that show the real reason we play, I love it all.

I have many hobbies but at heart I am a lacrosse player. I think that's part of the reason why I love sports photography, because some people only see one side if they have never played.
