Panning

For this photo I used asymmetry to create dominance from the car. I used contrast to create the intense mood. I used colour to draw the viewer in to the photo.

I used contrast to simplify the scene and make the subject stand out. I used lines to guide the viewer through the photo with the car and road. I used lighting to add depth and moos to my photo.

Freeze Motion

For this photo I used space to show the direction of travel and leaving room to move. I used value which crats the mood and adds depth. I used unity to add a sense of completeness to the image and allows my other elements and principles to work together.

In this image I used contrast to make my photo more dramatic. I used the colour in the ball to focus the viewer on the dog. I used space to show the room for movement from the dog.

Motion Blur

For this photo I used colour to direct the viewer in the photo and tell a story. I used pattern and repetition to show the movement. I broke the rules by having the subject moving, where you're supposed to have a clear subject.

About me

Hello, my name is Calia; a high school student in British Columbia with a love for photography.

I love being able to capture a story, memory, or emotion; not just a photo.

Being a bored teen in the summer who wanted learn something new is what started my journey

in photography. At least once i week I would ask my mom to use her camara. I would always be

met with a, "not right now," or "when we have time," eventually my mom gave up (thanks to me

constantly asking her) and I finely had her camara. Since then my love and skills continue to grow.

"Curiosity is essential for progress. Only when we look to worlds beyond our own can we really

know if there's room for improvement." -Simon Sinek.

My blog is where I will put my projects, trips, sports games, or recent work.

I love taking photos of groups of friends or family and capturing raw emotions and memories that tell a story. Sports photography is also a passion, from action shots and capturing the other side of sports that show the real reason we play, I love it all.

I have many hobbies but at heart I am a lacrosse player. I think that's part of the reason why I love sports photography, because some people only see one side if they have never played.
