Abstract

For this photo I used cool colours to create a more mysterious vide. Adding movement by rotating the camera is what makes my photo more abstract and eye catching. Because I filled the frame it makes the viewer have more to took at and think about that wouldn't happen with out the movement as well.

In this photo I used the rule of thirds with the tips of the pens and the leading lines to draw the viewer into the photo. I thought the red and blue colour of the pens made the photo pop more. The negative space was used to emphasize the pens and add that mystery in abstract.

I wanted to see what I could do with coloured lighting for this photo. The purple light on the grey pins makes my photo more interesting and add contrast. I filled the frame to draw the viewer in and change how they see my photo. I used value that adds contrast and makes my photo more interesting.

For this photo I used emphasis to make a clear focal point for the photo. I used prospective to make the viewer wonder what the subject could be. When editing I added more contrast for interest and emphasis.

I used leading lines to guide the viewer through the photo. The different colours makes this more eye catching and interesting. Because this photo is filling the frame it makes it more up for interpretation and abstract.

For my last photo the texture of the plastic petals makes it looks more rough. I added value with editing that adds contrast and emphasis and the petals. The close up prospective draws the viewer into the photo and makes it more interesting.

About me

Hello, my name is Calia; a high school student in British Columbia with a love for photography.

I love being able to capture a story, memory, or emotion; not just a photo.

Being a bored teen in the summer who wanted learn something new is what started my journey

in photography. At least once i week I would ask my mom to use her camara. I would always be

met with a, "not right now," or "when we have time," eventually my mom gave up (thanks to me

constantly asking her) and I finely had her camara. Since then my love and skills continue to grow.

"Curiosity is essential for progress. Only when we look to worlds beyond our own can we really

know if there's room for improvement." -Simon Sinek.

My blog is where I will put my projects, trips, sports games, or recent work.

I love taking photos of groups of friends or family and capturing raw emotions and memories that tell a story. Sports photography is also a passion, from action shots and capturing the other side of sports that show the real reason we play, I love it all.

I have many hobbies but at heart I am a lacrosse player. I think that's part of the reason why I love sports photography, because some people only see one side if they have never played.
